Asus P5K-E Question? Question about the p5k-e motherboard by Asus

David asked:
I got a P5K-E mobo from Asustek. I don’t yet have a processor for the motherboard, but I plugged in my power supply into my motherboard, and when I turn the power on, it flickers for a second, and the fans and lights work, but it’s just for a second, and it turns off right afterwards. The green light on the motherboard is still on, indicating that power is still getting to the motherboard. Is it the power supply that’s the problem or the motherboard? Both are brand new.
My power supply is a 500 watt Rosewill, and I don’t believe power is the issue here.
Check the voltage at the back of PSU ..
But you really should put ur CPU in first before powering up the mainboard
The light on the motherboard is powered thru the +5VSB rail of power supply. It will stay on as long as power supply is plugged to AC outlet.
Your motherboard is not detecting processor cooling fan rpm that is why it is immediately activating auto shutdown safety feature. Try plugging a spare fan w/ 3 pin plug to the cpu fan connector on the motherboard.
